Downloading Files from Canva

It is important to have a vector file of your logo/artwork. Vector files allow the art to be infinitely scaled up without losing quality. Common vector file formats are: AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS (Encapsulated PostScript), PDF (Portable Document Format), and SVG (Scalable Vector Graphics). Canva allows you to download your work as a PDF file or, if you have the pro account, as a SVG.

If you are using the free version of Canva, follow these steps:

  1. With the file that you want to download open, click the “Share” button in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Then click “Download.”
  3. Under the “File Type” dropdown, select “PDF Print.” This is a scalable vector file and will allow us to resize your logo without it becoming pixelated.
  4. The free default for the “Color Profile” is RGB. Leave this as is, but please provide us with your PMS or CMYK colors, if available.
  5. Click the purple download button and viola! Your file can now be found in your computer’s Downloads folder.
  6. If your logo/art includes text, please provide the name(s) of the font(s). We will need to ensure we have your fonts downloaded on our computers in order for them to display correctly.

If you are using Canva Pro, follow these steps:

  1. With the file open that you want to download, click the “Share” button in the upper right corner of the screen.
  2. Then click “Download.”
  3. Under the “File Type” dropdown, select “SVG.” This is a scalable vector file and will allow us to resize your logo without it becoming pixelated.
  4. Make sure the box is checked for Transparent background.
  5. Click the purple download button and viola! Your file can now be found in your computer’s Downloads folder.
